Fall down from a height.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

A compression fracture of L1 involving the superior endplate and posterior wall. Posterior retropulsion causing severe lumbar canal stenosis and local cord compression.

Case Discussion

Traumatic spinal compression fracture of L1 can be described as an incomplete burst fracture given only one endplate is involved (as well as the posterior wall).
