Presentation

Left flank pain.

Patient Data

Age: 18 years
Gender: Male

Intravenous urography shows left renal duplex collecting system with mild bilateral fullness probably due to mild UPJO. Bilateral ureters appear normal and urinary bladder shows smooth margins without obvious filling defect our out pouching.

Case Discussion

A duplex collecting system is one of the most common congenital renal tract abnormalities; characterized by an incomplete fusion of upper and lower pole moieties and may be complicated by vesicoureteric reflux, obstruction or ureterocele.
