Presentation

Routine MLO view left breast

Patient Data

Age: Adult
Gender: Female
mammography

The lesion in the upper outer quadrant left breast was not called abnormal.

Case Discussion

This small carcinoma was initially assumed to be an intramammary lymph node.

The lesion is too dense and spiculated to be a simple lymph node. This is not a BIRADS 2 case. It deserves to be worked up. This was in fact a small malignancy.

Compare with cases 21305 and 21306. Train your eye to run along the pectoral profile on the MLO views.
