Presentation

Late presentation for the screening mammogram.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female
mammography

Breast density: scattered areas of fibroglandular density (ACR B)

Left breast:

  • there is breast shrinkage, skin thickening with a parenchymal pattern, and increased glandular density

  • retracted nipple MLO; retracted nipple CC

  • architectural distortion noted at the inner Q (CC view)

  • no definite suspicious mass or microcalcification

  • no suspicious enlarged axillary lymph nodes

Right breast: normal

Case Discussion

The patient underwent a full workup for inflammatory breast carcinoma, but unfortunately, she decided for financial reasons to be treated at another hospital. An ultrasound and MRI were done, which showed a suspicious mass, and the diagnosis of inflammatory breast cancer was confirmed by biopsy.
