Fever and generalized body ache.

Patient Data

Age: 17 years

Large well circumscribed, lobulated, moderate and heterogeneously enhancing mass lesion in the right hemipelvis.

Case Discussion

Intra-operative findings were that of a hard right iliac fossa and right hemipelvic mass with dilated veins over surface and omental adhesions. The mass was free from the iliac vessels, uterus, fallopian tube and ovaries. It was adherent to the caecum.

Histopathologic diagnosis: inflammatory myofibroblastic tumour. This is commonly called an inflammatory pseudotumour.
