Ingested foreign bodies. History of mental illness.

Age: 25 years
Gender: Female

Seven metallic button batteries are projected in the stomach.

No signs of free gas, pneumatosis or obstruction.

Cholecystectomy clips noted.

Case Discussion

Button batteries can erode through the stomach or bowel wall and cause significant complications, hence it is important to perform serial imaging to follow them through the GIT.
