Dysphagia and choking.

Patient Data

Age: 3 years
Gender: Female

Round metallic foreign body projected over the supraclavicular region.

No pulmonary atelectasis bilaterally.


Soft tissue neck radiograph confirms a foreign body (coin) in the esophagus.

Case Discussion

Both coronal and sagittal plane x-rays are equally important to localize a foreign body. A child can ingest anything including toys, rubbers, coins and buttons.
