Two single images from a CT of the abdomen demonstrate a very large right sided indirect inguinal hernia containing the ileocecal junction and adjacent bowel. On the coronal image, one can readily appreciate the mesenteric vessels stretched as they descend into the hernia.
Case Discussion
Indirect inguinal hernias can reach very large sizes, called "mega hernia". They are liable for obstruction, and strangulation.
