Presentation
Patient came with a right inguinal swelling / bulge which was occasionally painful.
Patient Data
Fat containing right inguinal hernia was seen, no bowel loops identified. Hernia was easily reducible upon transducer compression without marked tenderness. Fat contents were seen herniating again with valsalva maneuver.
Case Discussion
The patient came with a swelling in the right inguinal region, proved to have a reducible, fat-containing right inguinal hernia. Real-time ultrasound scan was able to show the dynamic nature of the hernia, being reducible on compression and seeing protruding again through the hernial orifice/neck with Valsalva maneuver.
