The left ovary is in the left inguinal canal. Hernia passes superficial to inferior epigastric vessels. Left ovary is possibly larger than normal for age.
Intra-ovarian flow could not be properly evaluated due to excessive crying by child. However, there is a possible grayscale 'whirl' at hernia site.
Case Discussion
11 months of girl child presents with non-reducible left inguinal swelling. Ultrasound shows an ovary in the hernia with possible gray scale 'whirl-pool sign'.
Surgery was done on same day revealing gangrenous herniated ovary.
