Internal acoustic canal lipoma

Presentation

Left high pitch tinnitus and hearing loss.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male
MRI

There is a well-defined lesion in the left internal auditory canal (IAC). It is hyperintense on T1 and T2 weighted sequences and doesn't enhance after administration of GAD. It shows marked signal drop on fat saturated T2 weighted sequence.

Case Discussion

Lipoma of the internal auditory canal is very rare congenital malformation that arises from the Meninx primitiva, which forms the subarachnoid space and meninges.
