Internal angular orbital dermoid cyst - fat density

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Right side mass in the medial portion of eyebrow since childhood.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male

There is a well-defined, round fat attenuating (HU: -100), non-enhancing mass lesion in the right medial angular extraconal location measuring approximately 2.1x 1.8 x 1.6 cm. No evidence of any calcification in the lesion. No adjacent infiltrative or inflammatory changes. No extension inside the orbital cavity. No intracranial extension. No adjacent bony destruction or suspicious periosteal reaction.
 
Both globes appear normal with intact lens location. Normal appearance of optic nerve and muscle cones is noted bilaterally. There is no evidence of retrobulbar abnormality. Optic canal and bony orbits appear normal. Imaged neurocranium is normal.
