Interstitial ectopic pregnancy

A primigravida presented with 6 weeks and 4 days of amenorrhea. She complained of lower abdominal mild pain along with spotting per vaginum for the last two days. Two days before the ultrasound, the serum beta HCG level was 1063 mIU/ml.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Female

The uterus is retroverted. There is no myometrial lesion. The endometrial cavity is empty. There is a gestational sac in the left cornual region. There is an echogenic line extending from the endometrium to the gestational sac. The minimum myometrial thickness around the gestational sac is 1.7 mm. The mean sac diameter (MSD) is 5.6 mm. The yolk sac is not developed.

Both ovaries are normal. There is no adnexal mass lesion on either side. There is no free fluid in the pelvis.
