Routine screening mammogram

Patient Data

Age: 45
Gender: Female

Normal mammogram view.

Modality: Mammography

Spiculated mass lesion in the left breast

Modality: Ultrasound

Spiculated solid lesion left breast with all the hallmarks of malignancy on ultrasound.

Case Discussion

This patient was religiously conscientious in her annual mammograms.  In 2012 the mammogram was normal. The carcinoma developed in 12 months and even with the wisdom of hindsight the lesion is not visible in 2012. The development of an interval carcinoma left breast.
