Presentation
Recurrent abdominal pain - 1 month.
Patient Data
Appendix is visualized in its entire length. It shows diameter upto 9 mm. It is poorly compressible. Gut signature sign of appendix is maintained which rules out perforation.
There is an additional finding of linear structure within small bowel lumen. It shows echogenic wall and central anechoic lumen.
Case Discussion
Young male presents with abdominal pain for 1 month; showing ultrasound findings favoring non-perforated appendicitis. There are abnormal linear structures in small bowel lumen showing echogenic wall with central lumen - which are possibly parasites in distal ilial loop. There is no proximal bowel loop dilatation.
