T1 iso/low signal and T2 low signal lesion in an extra-articular pericapsular location anterior to the ankle joint. Blooming is seen on the gradient echo. Mild post-contrast enhancement.
The lesion is positioned superficial to the anterior capsule of the ankle joint, superficial to the anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament and deep to the extensor tendons.
Case Discussion
The patient subsequently underwent resection and tenosynovial giant cell tumor (previously known as pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS)) was confirmed on pathology.
