Presentation
Abdominal pain.
Patient Data
An 85 x 80 x 75 mm thick walled partially exophytic cyst with incomplete marginal calcification and internal septations is present at right lobe of the liver inferring hydatid cyst. Focal defect is noted in cyst wall adjacent to the bile duct accompanied by dilatation of intrahepatic bile ducts which contain membranes.
An 80 x 75 x 78 mm thick walled partially calcified cystic lesion with internal septations and without obvious solid component is noted at right liver lobe. Intrahepatic bile ducts are relatively dilated in the vicinity of cyst. The membranes within the biliary ducts are seen as linear hypointense structures on T2 fat sat sequences.
Case Discussion
Features are most consistent with an intrabiliary rupture of hepatic hydatid cyst.
