Case Discussion
Absolutely loads of MRI IAM studies are performed, with the chief indication of sensioneural hearing loss. The vast, vast majority are normal.
The chief pathology being looked for is a vestibular schwannoma, a small proportion of which are exclusively intracannilicular in nature.
They are typically small (a few millimeters) and can be easily overlooked without a 3D block of the IAMS which is the key sequence in the protocol.
