Intracranial epidermoid cyst

Recurrent attacks of headache and blurring of vision.

Patient Data

Age: 30-year-old
Gender: Male

CT Brain

A midline infratentorial extra-axial retrocerebellar low density lesion with marginal calcification. It indents the posterior aspect of the cerebellar vermis.


MRI Brain

The lesion displays signal that is iso intense to CSF in T1 and T2, slightly hterogenous hypointense on FLAIR with no significant enhancement and with true diffusion restriction.

Case Discussion

The MRI features of a non-enhancing cystic lesion with contents more or less similar to CSF and with true diffusion restriction is conclusive of epidermoid cyst.
