Presentation
Abdominal discomfort. Previous CT with a hypodense pancreatic lesion.
Patient Data
There is a lobulated cystic pancreatic body lesion, measuring around 2 x 2 x 2.5 cm, communicating with the main pancreatic duct. It gives the appearance of bunch of grapes.
These features are intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) - branch duct type.
The main pancreatic duct is not dilated.
Case Discussion
The characteristic appearance of an intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) - branch duct type) in this case visible as a cystic lesion of the pancreatic body, communicating with the main pancreatic duct. The pancreatic parenchyma is normal - no evidence of chronic pancreatitis, otherwise a pseudocyst should be considered.
