Intraductal papilloma

Case contributed by Mohammad Taghi Niknejad
Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Right nipple clear discharge since one month ago.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female
mammography

The secretory duct of the right breast was cannulated under sterile conditions, and contrast material was injected into the duct.

The duct is dilated and contains a filling defect, so a small amount of contrast material has reached distal to the filling defect.

Case Discussion

A targeted ultrasound examination was performed for the patient, and a small intraductal mass was noted in the right retro-nipple area. Then the patient went to have an ultrasound-guided vacuum-assisted total mass excision, and the histopathology evaluation confirmed intraductal papilloma (without atypia), the most common intraductal breast mass.
