Presentation

Acute unilateral hearing loss. No dizziness on presentation.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female

The axial 3D CISS sequence reveals a hypointense filling defect within the basal turn of the cochlea, replacing the normal hyperintense CSF signal intensity, represents the intracochlear schwannoma. 

The axial enhanced T1-weighted sequence at the level of the cochlea reveals a homogeneously enhancing mass in the basal turn of the cochlea (arrow) representing the intracochlear schwannoma.

Case Discussion

Histology obtained during surgery after the tumor grew, confirmed an intracochlear schwannoma.
