Intralobar pulmonary sequestration

Case contributed by Bahman Rasuli
Diagnosis certain

Presentation

Recurrent pulmonary infections.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

Lung window images of chest CT scan showed left lower lung air-trapping of posterior and medial basal segments with no connection with the bronchial tree

The lesion is supplied by two large systemic arterial branches from the left lateral wall of the descending thoracic aorta above the diaphragm

Venous drainage of the lesion was seen into the left inferior pulmonary vein.

Case Discussion

Left posterior and medial basal intralobular pulmonary sequestration.

The recent patient referred us for a lung chest CT scan in order to rule out COVID-19 infection. So the above finding was incidental and the mediastinal window is out of our access.
