Two well encapsulated cystic lesions with mural eccentric nodule (scolex), with surrounding edema, seen in belly of quadriceps (vastus medialis).

Case Discussion

Intramuscular cysticercosis, although rare worldwide, is quite common in endemic countries. It has typical appearance of 'cyst with scolex', as seen in this case. In later stages, most of them calcify and remain asymptomatic. Patient recovered after Albendazole treatment, and diagnosis was virtually confirmed.
