In the medial compartment of the right thigh, there is a well marginated, homogeneous signal intensity mass with thin septations.
T1WI
- homogeneous, high signal mass with similar intensity to subcutaneous fat
- thin, low signal internal septa
STIR
- follows signal intensity of subcutaneous fat
T1WI C+ FS
- no signifcant enhancement
Case Discussion
When evaluating a presumptive lipoma, one of the most important considerations is differentiating it from atypical lipomatous tumor / well-differentiated liposarcoma.
