Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male
ct

There is a hyperdense, crescentic, about 2 mm focus of density superomedially in the right orbit, in close proximity of the orbital wall, but not abutting muscles or the globe. Depicted soft tissues are normal considering the noncontrast study.

Case Discussion

CT is the imaging modality of choice while searching for metallic particle injury. In case of a delayed presentation, and if there is concern for either abscess or vascular injury contrast administration would be sensible.
