Intraosseous hemangioma - spinal

MRI study show nodular areas of hypersignal in T1 and T2-weighted images with a slight decrease of signal on T2-fat sat. On axial images it is possible to identify a “polka dotted” appearance due to the thickened vertebral trabeculae, a finding that is more common to see on CT images. 

Case Discussion

Vertebral hemangiomas are a location specific sub type of hemangiomas. They are most common of the benign vertebral neoplasms.
