Intrapancreatic accessory spleen

Case contributed by Domenico Nicoletti
Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Incidental finding during prostatic cancer follow up.

Patient Data

Age: 75 years
Gender: Male

At the end of the pancreatic tail, there is a solid formation of about 13 mm, exophytic, with regular margins and the same characteristic enhancement of the spleen.

The formation described at pancreatic tail level in all sequences, particularly in DWI, shows the same spleen signal.
