CT scan of the temporal bone demonstrating bony canal of the intratemporal part of the facial nerve (red).

Case Discussion

The intratemporal part of the facial nerve has three segments: labyrinthine (from IAC to geniculate ganglion), tympanic (from geniculate ganglion to pyramidal eminence) and mastoid (from pyramidal eminence to stylomastoid foramen).
