Intraventricular simple cyst

Case contributed by Zentout Sofiane
Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Headache.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male

CT demonstrates focal dilatation of the right lateral ventricular trigone.

mri

MRI demonstrates a thin-walled cystic lesion in the right ventricular trigone with signal intensity similar to CSF on all sequences. A minimal dilatation of the right occipital horn is noted. There is no periventricular edema.

Case Discussion

MRI features are suggestive of an intraventricular simple cyst.

The origin of these cysts is unclear, and the distinction between intraventricular arachnoid cysts, ependymal cysts, neuroepithelial cysts, or choroid plexus cysts is impossible according to MRI results.
