The prostate gland is enlarged and is protruding into the base of the bladder. The pre-void volume was 415 ml with a post-void residual of 265 ml. The patient felt as if he had fully emptied as much as possible at this time.
Comment:
Prostatic enlargement protruding into the base of the bladder with evidence of bladder outlet obstruction.
Case Discussion
This case demonstrates an enlarged prostate gland with intravesical prostatic protrusion. The degree of protrusion can be graded, and has been shown to be useful the prediction of bladder outlet obstruction 1.
