Intussusception: ileo-ileal

Presentation

Progressive right iliac fossa pain three days ago.

Patient Data

Age: 63 Years
Gender: Male
Modality: X-ray

The hall mark of this radiograph is loss of normal bowel gas distribution in the right abdominal quadrant with multiple air fluid level in the epigastrium.

Modality: CT

The contrast passed beyound the point of intussusception. The stomach appears distended. A segment of proximal small bowel with its associated mesentry is pulled into the distal segment of the bowel giving the appearance of target sign in axial or doughnut sign in sagittal reconstruction.

Modality: Pathology

Surgical intervention revealed intussusception occured secondary to polypoidal ileal soft tissue mass proved to be angiofibroma by histopathology.

Case Discussion

Ileocecal intussusception that occur secondary to ileal lesion proved to be angiofibroma.
