Presentation

Brought to the emergency department with intermittent abdominal pain and bloody stool.

Patient Data

Age: 9-month
Gender: Female
ultrasound

Transverse and longitudinal US through the intussusception shows a cylindrical mass consisting of an
outer hypoechoic ring surrounding a loop of bowel, mesenteric lymph nodes, and intervening echogenic fat. Color Doppler imaging reveals evidence of flow within the thickened intussusceptum.

Intussusception in a 9 month old. Hydrostatic reduction with normal saline was performed and intussusception reduced successfully.
