Area of architectural distortion with pleomorphic calcifications persist on coned compression magnification view. 


Ill-defined mass with angular margins, echogenic rind, taller-than-wide orientation and dense posterior shadowing, which corresponds to the mammographic abnormality.

Case Discussion

Mammography demonstrates a region of architectural distortion and pleomorphic calcification. Corresponding finding of a spiculated mass on ultrasound.

Pathology report:

Poorly differentiated (Grade III) ductal carcinoma fn NOS with focal mucin secretion and probable lobular differentiation.  Associated intermediate grade DCIS with microcalcification.
