Presentation

Workup of an asymmetrical density on mammogram

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Female

Workup of an asymmetrical density on mammogram showed this lesion on ultrasound 10 o'clock right breast. It was initially interpreted as a likely being a benign cyst.

10 months later

ultrasound

10 months later this is the same area on ultrasound. The lesion is now clinically palpable and has enlarged on mammogram and ultrasound. IDC on ultrasound guided biopsy.

Case Discussion

The initial interpretation was wrong. The lesion shows no posterior enhancement and has fuzzy, poorly defined margins. This is a sinister breast lesion on ultrasound and in no fashion is it likely a benign breast cyst.
