Patient Data

x-ray

Patchy lung opacity in the right middle lobe.

Consolidation with air-bronchogram seen in the medial segment of the right middle lobe; with more confluent centrilobular nodules in the lateral segment. Centrilobular nodules are noted as well in the right lower lobe.

No medistinal lymphadenopathy. Few hepatic cysts. Small right adrenal nodule. Colonic diverticula.

Case Discussion

Persistent lung opacity despite adequate antibiotic treatment should raise the possibility of invasive mucinous adenocarcinoma; which was proved by bronchoscopy and pathology.
