The patient's mobile phone is resting on his abdomen as the planning CT scout image is obtained. The phone was removed prior to proceeding with the actual trauma CT. The size and appearance of the phone is thought to be most consistent with an iPhone 6+.
Case Discussion
People take their phones everywhere these days! Luckily the radiographers noticed the phone on the scout image and removed it prior to the trauma CT otherwise artefact will have greatly reduced the scan quality.
