Acute abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Male

CT abdomen / pelvis


Diffuse bowel wall thickening is seen with hypovascular mesentery, as a likely sequela of closed loop obstruction.

Intraoperative findings


At laparotomy, the small bowel was congested and deemed to be unsalvageable.
