Presentation

Suspected myositis/myopathy with heavy excersie-related muscle soreness of arms and legs. Signs of myositis?

Patient Data

Age: 50
Gender: Female
MRI

Bilateral narrow distance between lesser trochanter of the femur and ischial tuberosity (right 9 mm, left 12 mm) with high T2 fatsat signal in the quadratus femoris muscle on both sides in keeping with oedema.

No muscle wasting or fatty changes.

Case Discussion

Findings are consistent with bilateral ischiofemoral impingement based on a narrow interval between ischial tuberosity and the femur.
