Patient Data

Age: 8 years
Gender: Male

Asymmetry of the ischiopubic synchondrosis with enlargement on the left side.

Normal ossification appearance of an 8-year-old boy.

No fractures.

Case Discussion

Ischiopubic synchondrosis asymmetry refers to the enlargement of one of the ischiopubic synchondroses.

It is an anatomic variant of skeletal development and in the absence of symptoms should not be confused with pathological findings such as osteomyelitis or bone tumors.
