Anteroposterior pelvic radiograph shows enlargement of the right ischiopubic synchondrosis resembling an expansile bone mass with irregular edges.
Case Discussion
Ischiopubic synchondrosis asymmetry (van Neck-Odelberg disease) is the atypical ossification of the junction between the inferior ischium and pubic ramus. Radiological features may mimic stress fracture, neoplasm or osteomyelitis. With skeletal maturation, it becomes thinner and then obliterates, like all synchondroses.
