Abdominal examination in supine position reveals normal sized liver with normal parenchymal echotexture and isolated hepatic parenchymal calcifications.
Case Discussion
This was a follow-up for a case of cholelithiasis and cholangitis. She had recently undergone ERCP for the stone's retrieval. THe common bile duct was of normal caliber and contained no visible calculus. These calcifications may be due to previous granulomatous infectious processes, e.g. tuberculosis, histoplasmosis, coccidioidomycosis, or an autoimmune process, i.g. sarcoidosis.
