Persistent wrist pain after a fall on the outstretched hand several weeks ago.

Case Discussion

Disruptions of the scapholunate ligament are a frequent occurrence after a fall on the outstretched hand, along with fractures of the distal radius and fractures of the scaphoid.

Left untreated, they may lead to chronic carpal instability with DISI deformity and subsequent SLAC (scapholunate advanced collapse).
