Intra and extra-hepatic bile ducts are dilated, and CBD is measured 9 mm in caliber.

Several non-enhanced simple cortical and parapelvic cysts are observed in both kidneys.

Fusiform aneurysmal dilatation of the infrarenal abdominal aorta is noted up to 35 mm.

Degenerative changes such as osteophytosis are seen in the lumbar spine.

A large size sliding hiatal hernia is present.

Case Discussion

Features on CT images include large thick-walled cystic lesion with multifocal septal and marginal calcifications are the most consistent with splenic hydatid infection.

Splenic hydatid infection is a rare form of hydatid disease, particularly when it is isolated. It is usually asymptomatic unless it causes abdominal pain due to large size.
