2D and 3D ultrasound images of the bladder showing a star-shaped echogenic and posterior shadowing calculus. Grossly enlarged prostate is also demonstrated.
Case Discussion
Star-shaped bladder calculus is a specific appearance of bladder stone which is usually of calcium oxalate dihydrate composition. In this case, it is associated with bladder outlet obstruction secondary to prostatic enlargement.
