Presentation
Aсute abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting.
Patient Data
Large twisted jejunojejunal intussusception in the central part of abdomen. Bowel wall thickening with decreased perfusion as a sign of bowel ischemia or necrosis. There is a lipoma inside intussusceptum which can be a cause of intussusception.
The proximal parts of intestine are distended by fluid.
The first photo shows the intussusception.
In the second photo there is unwrapped intussusception, left part of intestine is with signs of necrosis.
Unfortunately, surgeons could not find lipoma during the operation.
Case Discussion
This case demonstrates the jejunojejunal intussusception, probably because of intraluminal lipoma, complicated by small bowel wall necrosis.
