Rugby injury.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

Longitudinal US images of the left little finger demonstrate avulsion of the bony insertion (P3) of the flexor digitorum profundus (FDP). The tendon fibers appear intact.

x-ray

Avulsion fracture of the base of the distal phalanx of the left little finger on its palmar aspect .

Bruising and swelling over the distal part of the palmar aspect of the left little finger.

Findings are compatible with Jersey finger (Rugby finger).
