History of trauma about three weeks ago.

Patient Data

Age: 10 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Transverse fracture through the proximal 5th metatarsal, not involving the articular surface in favor of incomplete Jones fracture.

Abnormal density is evident, particularly at the hindfoot. Regarding patient history and three weeks of immobility, features may be consistent disuse-related osteopenia.

Case Discussion

Features are consistent with incomplete Jones fracture.

The proximal 5th metatarsal is a site for some fractures and normal variants which may mimic fractures.
