Chronic cough.

Patient Data

Age: 20
Gender: Male

Situs inversus noted. Changes of bronchiectasis are seen throughout both lower lobes and right middle lobe. The lungs are otherwise clear.

Case Discussion

There is something inherently fascinating about Karteneger syndrome (primary ciliary dyskinesia), resulting in it be over represented in exams and radiology registrar's notes. Still it is an excellent example of how one deficiency (radial spoke defect) can result in so many phenotypical changes.
