Chronic left wrist pain and limited range of motion.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

The lunate bone is sclerotic, deformed, and fragmented associated with sub-chondral sclerosis and joint space narrowing in the radiocarpal joint.

The lunate bone is collapsed and sclerosed with fragmentation.

Radiocarpal joint space narrowing with subchondral sclerosis is also seen.

The other carpal bones are unremarkable with no evidence of osteoarthritis.

Case Discussion

Findings are compatible with Kienböck disease, a type of osteonecrosis that involves the lunate.
